Welcome to my website. I'm a forty-something shutterbug, a parent, a Canadian, and a Pisces. I am a lucky and happy person and managed to marry the woman of my dreams.
I only first had to go to the other side of the world to find her. Then once I did, I was exiled by her country's government. Then I got laid off. Then the bank I worked for disintegrated. Then my business flopped. But it all ended well; now we're parents to a clever and lively boy named Kenneth and a darling baby girl named Emma. We live in Toronto.
When working for other people, I mostly work with start-ups. I'm currently employed with my seventh, as a 'risk manager'. I study stuff like corporate governance and learning how to run a small business.
about this site
In 1995, I began to write for the 'net. First it was book reviews, then IT how-tos, photography, travel, and even an odd funeral speech or two. Nowadays that early fun stuff is mostly gone (mostly) and like many boring middle-aged people I talk about work or my kids and even my commute in my 2,500-entry journal. I don't do Facebook, I do this. Have fun.

We've just launched our business, by the way (see link in upper-right).
I hope you are doing great and you are happy in Japan. Good luck ,
Margaret
I'm back in Canada as of this January. We came back after two grueling years of the economic downturn in that country. Happily, it was about two months before the earthquake, tsunami, and the incident at the nuclear power plant.
How's everything on the west coast? I see the B&B's still on the go. 8)
Is your brother back in Canada?
