NHL (again)

The NHL debacle has reached the point of farce. I think I'm passed the point of being outraged that the parties involved are simply squabbling over the corpse of the game like so many vultures (or maybe not), and now I'm just watching out of a sense of ghastly intrigue. Like reading about a political scandal. You watch it unfold, and think, "Why is this tale still dragging on?" and "How come these people (public figures, 'leaders', 'roll models') never escape this kind of stupdity?"
