job searching....

Toronto, 2005.04.25

As I was climbing out of the shower this morning, my cell phone rang. It was the bank I'd interviewed with. They had gone with the other short-listed contender, but they were going to pass around my resume internally for a number of leads that were on the go.

Then an hour later, I got another call from a software/services firm. They want me to come in on Wednesday.

One door closes, another opens. The usual thing.

Otherwise, I've been doing some more "peak oil" reading, and I suspect this wind power generation thing has some real legs. I sent a couple of questions to a former colleague who's now a Green party candidate in the city to ask him his advice on getting into that 'industry'. And his timely advice was good. I'm going to start with these folks.

In one of history's more absurd acts of totalitarianism, China has banned Buddhist monks in Tibet from reincarnation without government permission.
