Last night I finished entering the first quarter of my novel's fourth draft. Which is good. There weren't as many edits in that part of the story as there were in later parts, but it's good to make progress.
Tonight I've had a look at it the results of the first quarter's latest revision, and am disappointed with its awkwardness. It just never hangs together the way I'd like.
It's tricky business, writing your first novel. Happily, life always gives you some motivation to keep going.
