RDL DVD's

Today in a store in Gotanda I noticed these, which appear to be 8.5GB DVD's. I do believe they're the size required for storing movies. I wonder if the RIAA or MPAA are already trying to think up a way of getting the Japanese government to pass pre-emptive media taxes on the things.
