Goodbye, Toronto

Toronto, 2007.09.21

And our last day is upon us, just like that.

The morning was spent at the storage place, once again. We met the guys from the shipping place and they hauled it all off.

Then we were free to roam about, so we went shopping again. I got a hat. I'm ready for middle age.

Then we went to Centre Island for an all-too-brief visit. Mari liked the "Please walk on the grass" signs.

After that we met with Gord Macleod and family. Gord and Jo are the serious adults now, with careers and kids. It suits them. And Cam! He was a little boy when I last saw him, and now he's going on six and entertaining us with tales and wit and his intellect. Our visit, too, was over too soon.

We rounded it out with a drink at the Paddock with Sailor Yoon, but overcome with exhaustion we called it a relatively early night.

rand()m quote

Human beings, who are almost unique in having the ability to learn from the experience of others, are also remarkable for their apparent disinclination to do so.
