kid's day
Today is kid's day in Japan, when they fly long "fish" kites at just about every public place. It's a time when the family gets together and has a special meal in honour of the children in the family. Usually some new thing for the child is done.
We took young Ta-kun (only 9 months old) to the sea-side. At first he seemed a bit nonplussed at the sight of the ocean, but it didn't last long.
Later that day, Mari's parents showed me the old twin-reflex-lens camera that had belonged to Mari's maternal grandfather. They told me that they wanted me to have it!
This is the strange creature made from the 1954 Ricohflex sitting atop my new Joby tripod.
So now my collection of cameras, as arranged by date, is:
-Ricohflex "Model VII" (1954)
-Minolta SRT-101 (1966)
-Minolta XD (1977)
-Minolta X-700, x2 (1981)
-Two toy cameras (199?)
-Pentax *istDS (2004)
