Merry F'n X'mas

Nichinan, Miyazaki, 2008.12.24

X'mas eve, and all through the house, not a creature was stirring except for the 8.12 trillion creatures in Michael's infected digestive tract.

I managed to pull out of the tailspin briefly in the morning, with the fever down and my stomach up to a bit of congee and soda water.

Then it was back down again for another round of fever (this time only in the mid 37's) and dizzyness and nausea and thumping headache .. and it was off to a clinic for another drip. This one had anti-nausea elements. Perhaps because this Doctor had a bit of grey at his temples. And perhaps he could tell from my demeanor that I didn't want to be there at all.

While lying there, a migraine kicked in, of course. This happens in periods of dehydration, as it does with periods of sunny weather, periods of alcohol consumption, periods of stress, and other non-periodic triggers). So I dosed up on meds for that, too, and was out of action for the rest of the day.
