kanji guide

Tokyo, 2009.03.14

I've completed a compilation of words/usages for over 100 kanji. It takes the shape of an MS Excel file, and is formatted so that ten kanji appear on each page, each entry having the kanji's readings (Japanese and Chinese-derived) as well as the stroke count and several sample words that utilize the kanji. I based the format and kanji order on the book Basic Kanji Book Vol 1 published by Bonjinsha Company, but incorporates words from the White Rabbit Press flash cards, the book 100 Kanji in 10 Days, and the excellent book A Guide to Remembering Japanese Characters by Kenneth G. Henshall (the best kanji book I've ever seen). It does not contain any of the explanatory text (which I expect would be copyright) from those other sources, nor the tests, games and art (for the same reason).

It took me many many hours to build, and I figure if it's to serve any real purpose I have to a) update it and b) share it. I hope it can serve as a study aid for someone out there. Good luck (you and I need it!).
