cyyyyycling in the raiiiinnn

Tokyo, 2009.10.14

Just getting over a cold, when I get caught in the rain last night. Now I'm back to square one.

The weather in this sea-side city is curiously unpredictable. With a mix of sun and cloud all day yesterday, I was indoors beavering away at our ongoing project and nursing a cold. In the evening I had a dinner date with a friend who wants to brush up on his English, and I decided to cycle up to see him.

Naturally, it began to rain quite hard during dinner despite a clear weather forecast and as I say no sign of rain all day. When we emerged, it had been clear for at least half an hour and all was well. But as soon as I climbed into the seat for the return trip, it began to rain.

Naturally this morning I'm feeling worse than over the previous few days, and I've begun to cough which thanks to my scarred and wheezy lungs means I'll be coughing for a week. Sigh.
