"great husband" again

Tokyo, 2009.11.29

When we were first married, Mari would occasionally tell me that I was a "great husband". Doesn't happen so much anymore.

But it happened this weekend. It seems that she was more burned out than I knew. After the river clean-up yesterday, she essentially passed out for two hours. Only then did I realize how much work she'd put into that event on top of her normal "duties" at work and as a mother.

I earned my praise by wrangling with Kenny as much as possible (e.g. short of breast feeding), and I did the cooking and dishes (we usually split both). Doesn't sound like much, and it really wasn't a big deal for me But I really get a sense of what it's like for Mari, who shoulders everything all the time.

Thank you Mari, sorry I haven't been too "great" these past few months/years.
