odd behaviour at Kinko's

Tokyo, 2010.02.04

I walked into a FedexKinkos today to do some printing. As soon as I walked in, I realized that I'd forgotten to do something important.

Naturally, I berated myself with a clenched fist, arms thrown upwards and a grimace while groaning angrily.

As the moment passed, a Japanese woman maybe ten years my senior turned to look at me. And stare. She held the look .. held it .. I smiled at her. But she kept staring. "Forgot something," I told her in English (dummy). She stared.

Yeah, awright, whatever. I'm 196cm tall, wearing a parka and cycling helmet, and shaking my fist angrily at the gods (a la Basil Fawlty). Lots to stare at I guess.

There are two kinds of people in this world: Those that enter a room and turn the television set on, and those that enter a room and turn the television set off.
