goodbye, home

Tokyo, 2010.12.21

It's our last day in Tokyo.

We've moved out of our apartment and spent the night in a surprisingly cheap hotel that Mari found not too far from our home. And so ends a really memorable home: it was, at 39 months, the longest I've lived anywhere since I left my parents' home in 1989; and it was the happiest home I've known; it was the most expensive place I've ever lived.

We had enough space for the three of us, we had a really excellent view (including an old shrine!) and we had a large enough living room to entertain friends from time to time—even rambunctious little children.

I wonder what's next!
