broken, cold sunrise

Oakville, 2011.01.17

This morning there was a really amazing sunrise, just astonishing. Like this one, which I photographed in Tokyo back in September.

sunrise over Shinagawa

The colours were quite similar, and I immediately thought of this day. The similarity ended there, of course. Today there was a lot of snow blowing across the middle distance, and the sun itself was raked with broken little clouds as they scudded low across of the lake. It was f'n amazing.

Naturally I had a roll of black and white film in the camera. Still managed a shot or two of the Go blasting toward the Bronte platform in a shroud of white.
