whatta day

Toronto, 2011.02.28

The Boy's got a skin infection similar to the ones I had this autumn. It's accompanied by a fever.

Mari and I independently spent part of the day trying to get him into this or that Doctor. No luck. Looks like my doc doesn't see kids—somehow this took all day for his receptionist to communicate to me. No matter, tomorrow's another day (and the gods know the infection won't clear up by itself).

Then I went to drop off a lens with the same folks who had my Minolta X-700 in for repair in December. The lens is one of my favourites, a little 20mm that has a tendency to just stay on the camera whenever I put it on, even if I'm carrying two others at the time.

After dropping that off, I dropped in to pick up some film I'd left for development. The lab had inadvertently made prints for some reason, and I was saddened to see that the effect that I'd paid to have fixed was still impacting the shots I was taking with that X-700. A big fat streak of white at the 30-40% mark from the left, running from top to bottom. So far a new light shield and new seals have failed to fix this...

Then things at work went somewhat pear-shaped for a couple of projects I've got on the go. Nothing seemed to go to well today.

Ah, Monday....

I just wish that people would realize that anything's possible if you try. Dreams are made if people try.
