return of the cold weather

Toronto, 2011.04.15

Just when it was "Spring" and the cycle lane was clogged with traffic, the cool weather has returned.

Happily, the cycling was a lot easier this morning.

One thing that's really suffered this week has been my photography. I'm in a photo challenge to take a pic every day with a single camera/lens combo. Yesterday was okay but the day before that I took only one anemic photo of the new aquarium and the day before that, due to illness; nothing. Today I left without my camera.

It's been a tough week all 'round. In addition to losing a day to a migraine, every day seemed to have something. Today I got to work and promptly spilled 1/3 of my coffee on my tie and crotch. On Tuesday and Wednesday, Kenny refused to participate in the programs that Mari's signed him up for. All of her efforts have been dashed; he won't get involved when she takes him to the venue. It's been quite frustrating and she's got to deal with not only his refusal to cooperate but the inability to get a couple of hours to herself during the week to relax. With me being stuck at work all week, I'm not of much use to her, either. To top it all off I'm architecting an audit response, overhauling a small "best-efforts" shop into a professional (read, bank-grade) software development house.

Who knew; picking up and moving to the other side of the world is a bit of a challenge.

rand()m quote

For a long time I was very bitter that the people who controlled the means of anybody ever hearing my songs were never gonna play them. They only favored music that I specifically and particularly hated, and I wanted them dead. Suddenly, there was another avenue. I started hearing my stuff coming out of bars and then it started to happen little by little — a movie song here or a TV ad there.
