santa clause parade
Today a stranger threw something at me on the street; I picked up the small piece of plastic and put it in my mouth.
Unthinkable? The plastic was a noisemaker and I was at a parade. And I had a three year old to entertain with wheeeeeeeoooooooooiiiiiisssssss noises.
Kenny liked the parade, though it was so cold that he was trying to hunch himself smaller and was shivering constantly before it was over. He warmed up just fine with some hot chocolate at the Second Cup when it was over, but I think we tend to forget that his little frame cools much more quickly than hours. I didn't even think to put him in my overcoat until we were already heading home.
The parade was nice enough, the first I've attended in the eight X'mas seasons I've lived in this city. Though the effect of "Santa Claus" was a bit muted by the actor using a camera to photograph the crowds; that took us out of the moment so to speak.
