cheated in love
Today Kenny wounded me grievously.
After I'd spent half a day working from my home office (which I love, and should do more often), we'd spent the afternoon on an errand in Kleinburg Ontario, getting our taxes sorted out. It had taken a long time, both in getting to my accountant's distant office and then waiting while I worked with her. After he'd finished his hot chocolate, he told his mum in Japanese, "Mother, I love you." Turning to me, he then said, "Daddy .. what are you doing?"
I blinked at him. What? Where's my "I love you." I glanced at Mari, grinning at the non-sequitur, and we both laughed.
And to think that when we'd entered the place, Mari had ordered coffees for the two of us while I took Kenny to the toilet. But it was me who remembered to order Kenny the dang hot chocolate!
Three good things that happened today:
1. Got lots done at home
2. Kenny had fun on my accountant's kids' trampoline
3. Got our taxes sorted out. Whew!
