what's this .. socializing?

Tonight we met for a potluck dinner with some friends, and friends of theirs.
The venue may have changed by 8,500 km, but some things remain constant. Three Japanese, two Canadians, Two Koreans, a handful of "hybrid" kids. Sub in Americans for the Koreans and that's the mix we'd have been hanging around with in Tokyo. We even had a Chinese-Malaysian representative.
Hopefully this represents a new trend for 2012. We certainly didn't get out much for 2011.
