a house on fire

Toronto, 2014.07.23

Tonight in the wee hours, we were woken by the sirens of fire engines; a house across the street was aflame. It wasn't until much later that we learned all was well, but once again I was amazed at just how on top of things the fire department really is; they were here before the fire had gotten very far, and from the looks of the torched van and ruined garage, things could have been much worse.

We're all well.

When a stupid man is doing something he is ashamed of, he always declares that it is his duty.
