I think I said this about the previous two CIA exams as well, but this third one is going to be a killer. I've read the first four chapters now and after stumbling through the accounting material I've essentially run into a wall with the finance stuff. I had no idea I'd be studying how bonds and other financial instruments are designed and created.
It's interesting material, but using an exam prep book to learn this stuff is not working. Which is why I'm starting my second accounting book today - it's invaluable and necessary. Not sure what to do about the finance material, I might just "study to the exam" and not try to get too deep in that area.
