an "oldie"

Toronto, 2013.11.17

I was in a store this week when an old song came on. Something from the 80's when I was maybe thirteen or so, overproduced and not particularly memorable (certainly not the best the band produced). I said to the cashier, "I never thought I'd hear this song again."

She said, "Yeah, we have it on the oldies channel."

There it was: oldies. I guess that explains why I'd had to have a bit of a pause while cresting the bridge on my route to work. Yes, there'd been a substantial headwind, but my utterance of "I'm old" was accurate.
