still no TV

Toronto, 2014.01.14

Having a TV mounting bracket on the wall, but no TV to hang there is a strange situation but that's where we stand. I'd attempted to order a TV through Amazon, and but that was two weeks ago and the order's gone nowhere. So I tried ordering one through Best Buy, and so far they've sent me three emails telling me that my order needs "updated information" and every time I talk to them it's some fun new adventure, but the damn thing never gets actually sent.

So now I've got two orders with two online retailers, neither of which is moving. At least the wall bracket's stayed up.

(In which I leave the final word to someone else.)

Naturally the common people don't want war: Neither in Russia, nor in England, nor for that matter in Germany. That is understood. But, after all, it is the leaders of the country who determine the policy and it is always a simple matter to drag the people along, whether it is a democracy, or a fascist dictatorship, or a parliament, or a communist dictatorship. Voice or no voice, the people can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders. That is easy. All you have to do is tell them they are being attacked, and denounce the peacemakers for lack of patriotism and exposing the country to danger. It works the same in any country.
