the last stand of robin hood

Toronto, 2015.03.29

I took the boy to see the farewell performance of "The Heart of Robin Hood" today. I have to say it was substantially better than I expected; very well plotted, with a more modern interpretation, with better music, and a less cartoonish form of action.

There were so many little touches, from the slightly clownish but otherwise sophisticated villain and his Road Warrior muscle to the updated storyline – in which Robin Hood is just a common thug until Main Marian takes to a more noble form of highwayman lifestyle to show him how it should be done.

And Ken loved it. I asked him what he thought, and he gave it a thumbs up. Then two. Then showed all ten fingers up. As I put him to bed he told me it was a day he'd remember 'til he dies.

You have to choose between trusting to the natural stability of gold and the natural stability of the honesty and intelligence of the members of the Government. And, with due respect for these gentlemen, I advise you, as long as the Capitalist system lasts, to vote for gold.
