beaver patrol

Toronto, 2016.03.30

Tonight while fishing (fruitlessly) at the Ashbridge's Bay marina, a large beaver paddled right by in front of me. I'd seen the chewed-up trees, and knew there was around, but honestly: how many urban areas with six million people have a growing beaver population!

No fishing tomorrow; looks like I've been skunked the entire winter pike open season.

Human beings, who are almost unique in having the ability to learn from the experience of others, are also remarkable for their apparent disinclination to do so.
