inching closer to github pages

Toronto, 2016.10.24

I will achieve in time, my object all sublime, to move this website to a free platform. I've now got routines in place to generate all of the pages (I have 96) and the journal entries (I have 3336, whoops 3337) as flat HTML. I've already got the repository posted to github. Now I just have to iron out some odds and ends, and I can wind down 18 years of hosting my own site and yet still have a venue for my writing. Secure. Fast. Low-maintenance. Highly available. And free of charge. Ah, the march of progress.

(In which I leave the final word to someone else.)

The way you write science fiction is: you sit down at your writing machine and you open your mind to the first thought that comes through. My first thought was always a cigarette.
